Crunchy Cherry Cake Dessert

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 pkg white cake mix (1 Jiffy mix)
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup oleo (melted)

Instructions:

  1. Pre heat oven to 350° F.
  2. Spread pie filling in bottom of 8″ or 9″ square baking dish.
  3. Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
  4. Pour batter over filling.
  5. Sprinkle coconut. Add nuts. Drizzle melted butter.
  6. Bake at 350° F for 40 minutes.
  7. Serve warm.

When I read “serve warm” I recall how hugs from Grandma could cure the soul. But, on occasion, you could get a glimpse of her on the receiving end of one-such-hug.
