Dill Pickles

Ingredients:

  • 3 quarts water
  • 1 quart vinegar
  • 3/4 cup coarse salt
  • 1 tsp alum
Per Jar
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp dill seed
  • 2 slices onion

Instructions:

  1. Cold pack for 5 minutes.

Josiah google-verified the “alum” ingredient. Definitely use a teaspoon (and not the Tablespoon notation I thought was written). It is a potent ingredient used for pickling, and recommended to only use as prescribed.
