Ingredients:
- 1 cup dates (chopped)
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 3 cups sugar (white)
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup nuts
Instructions:
- Pre heat oven to 350° F.
- Mix sugar, flour, baking soda and salt. Fill three coffee cans half full.
- Make hole in the middle and pour in date mixture. (*grandkid note: “date mixture” might be dates, boiling water and butter – since we do not see directions for these ingredients on the recipe card)
- Add beaten eggs into hole. Then add nuts and vanilla extract.
- Mix and fill cans.
- Bake at 350° F for 20 minutes.
