Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour (White Lily)
- 1/4 cup Crisco (heaping)
- 3/4 cup – 1 cup full-fat buttermilk
- 1/2 stick butter (little less than melted)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 500° F.
- Mix flour and shortening with fingers until pea sized.
- Add buttermilk and mix with wooden spoon.
- Dust countertop with flour. Shape dough into rectangle. With pizza cutter, cut into 8-10 squares.
- Place in greased cast iron skillet. Pour butter over.
- Bake for 12 minutes.
