Mama’s No-Knead Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups scalded milk
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cake yeast (2 oz – 3 pkg)
  • 3 eggs
  • 9 cups flour

Instructions:

  1. Pre heat oven to 375° F.
  2. Mix scalded milk, shortening, sugar and salt.
  3. Add water to cool mixture to lukewarm.
  4. Add yeast dissolved in 1/3 cup warm water.
  5. Add eggs and mix in half of the flour and mix.
  6. Add rest of the flour with mixer.
  7. Chill.
  8. Bake at 375° F for 1 hour.

Hmm… this recipe looks strangely similar to Mama’s Bread. Can you spot the difference?
